This little book pairs the most popular Mother Goose rhymes with the enchanting illustrations of Vernon Grant (1902-1990), creator of Snap! Crackle! And Pop! , the Kellogg’s Rice Krispies characters. In his time he was also considered “America’s favorite children’s artist,” by Life magazine and he’s a highly collectible illustrator today. Beautiful reproduction of twenty-three of the most popular Mother Goose rhymes and illustrations that bring a fresh appeal to Humpty Dumpty, Simple Simon, Jack Spratt, and other familiar characters. Each image is nearly a full page. The first edition of this book originally appeared in 1938. Informative four-page biography of Grant. 27 illustrations in color, featuring his unique style and brilliant coloring. What a wonderful little book! Out Of Print. Condition: Very Fine.
